About the project
la compañía – javier arozena is the creative tandem formed by the artist Javier Arozena and the architect Gino Senesi.
We develop our artistic practice by placing the body in relation to environment, architectural space, and territory. We move across different performing disciplines and inscribe our artistic proposals within diverse performative spaces. We generate codes in constant transformation, as well as other possibilities of communication.
Throughout our processes, we practice sensitive listening, attentive observation, and subtle touch in order to give body to the invisible and materiality to the intangible—so that they may reappear in their full potency, giving rise to spaces for reflection, landscapes of contemplation, and territories of thought.
From this artistic position, we dance the processes of our living works and the vital searches that engage us.
Our story
Desde 2022 es curador del Programa Público de Artes Vivas “POR ASALTO” en TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, donde ha comisariado la exposición “Este puede ser el lugar, performar el museo” junto a Natalia Álvarez Simó. “EPSEL” también se presenta en Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque entre septiembre de 2024 y febrero de 2025.
En 2025 inicia la curaduría y coordinación de Artes Vivas del equipo de TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes como parte del Programa, con fondos Creative Europe, P.I.T. (Perform – Inform – Transform) en el consorcio formado con Triennale di Milano, Bozar Bruxxelles, CAC Vilnius, MUDAM Luxembourg y Fundação Serralves.
Desarrolla su práctica artística desde 2001 como intérprete, creadory docente en compañías nacionales, europeas y norteamericanas. Actualmente forma parte de Dance On Ensemble (Berlín): Works In Silence y STEIN de Lucinda Childs, Fäden de Ivana Müller, Mellowing de Christos Papadopoulos, ente otros.
